OUR STORY
Bamboo Mamboo is a supplier of bamboo straws and eco-friendly products to businesses and individuals world-wide. We started with beautiful bamboo drinking straws and our range expanded with demand. We now manufacture bamboo straws and other products with minimal, or better, no plastic. We consider ourselves an socially responsible company with a mission of facilitating change to more environmentally friendly alternatives to plastic for both individual and businesses worldwide. Through education and offering beautifully designed eco-friendly products we hope to help the need to reduce plastic pollution worldwide.
Our company is based in Vung Tau, Vietnam. We work closely with several bamboo farming communities and maintain a socially ethical and cooperative relationship with the locals, providing them with employment and financial assistance to better the lives of the villages and artisans.
We are proud to be part of the flourishing worldwide movement to reduce plastic waste and pollution.
Why Bamboo?
Plastic remains on our planet for a lifetime. The vast majority of plastic straws cannot be recycled, and instead end up in landfills, or – worse – in the ocean. Plastic straws are harmful to marine life, and have been one of the top 5 items found in coastal clean-ups worldwide.

Our Values

Our bamboo straws are sourced responsibly, using natural and organic materials. Local village artisans process and prepare the harvested bamboo.
This helps to support local communities in rural areas with employment and income opportunities that are rare in many remote areas of Vietnam.
Our farms
Our farms produce organic bamboo that grows at a rapid rate. The local villagers and artisans use no pesticides or poisons, and harvest by hand. They then grade, shape and refine the bamboo to suit the design of our products. Everything is handcrafted and made with love.
Our farms are based in Southern and Northern Vietnam. With the variation of climate seasons between north and south, we are able to harvest premium quality bamboo all year round.

The Malay story says that the word BAMBOO was formed by combining the words “mamboo”, which originated in the ancient Dravidian, spoken mostly by Malayans, and the word “bamboes”, which was used, and introduced in that part of the world by the Dutch colonists, at the end of the 16th century.
According to this story, the word BAMBOO was coined in the period between 1590 and 1600.
